An Update From Team 5

The Commanding Officer of the City of Charleston's Team 5, which encompasses Daniel Island and Cainhoy, came to visit with residents at Point Hope on March 15th. Lt. Wojslawowicz joined residents at The Hub, where he addressed questions regarding school traffic, traffic signal timing and speeding.

Lt. Wojslawowicz also shared that the crime rate in our area is considered very low. The biggest problem Team 5 faces, in fact, is the theft of items from vehicles. He stressed that residents should always lock their vehicles when unattended - all of the thefts reported last year involved cars that were left unlocked.

Lt. Wojslawowicz requested that residents promptly report any suspected criminal activity so that it can be addressed appropriately, and he shared several ways for contacting the Department:

To report illegal and/or suspicious activity, contact:
Consolidated Dispatch Center: 843-743-7200

For general information, contact:
CrimePrevention@Charleston-SC.gov
or
843-769-7407

To visit the Department’s Crime Prevention office in person:
180 Lockwood Blvd.
Downtown Charleston

To visit Team 5 in person:
235 Seven Farms Dr.
Daniel Island

A big thank you to Lt. Wojslawowicz and Team 5 for all they do to help keep our community safe!
